kimber polymer 9mm

Kimber Polymer 9mm - Known for its 1911-style, all-metal guns, the US manufacturer is opening a subcompact striker-fired 9mm pistol with a glass-tight nylon frame and high magazine capacity. The R7 Mako is perspective-ready and is also available in a perspective-set version complete with a purple CTS-1500 reflective track. Many of the features of the new R7 Mako are typical of modern gun carriers, but some are not…

Now for something completely different.... It's not an old 1970s British Monty Python sketch comedy movie: Camber introduces it's new polymer pistol - the R7 Mako.

They proudly announce in Wales. The new addition is truly loaded with essential features in today's handgun carry, including a high-capacity 11+1 round magazine (13+1 rounds with extended magazine included), trigger action and a reflex sight (on the optic-mount model) - plus some old and now less they share each technology as a fully enclosed, or "flesh" engine port. The Kimber R7 Mako is available in optical-ready and sight-reinforced versions. At the rear, the CTS-MD's purple reflective trail is visible. In either case, the gun can mount any aspect that matches the RMSc shield track. The R7 Mako comes with proven night sights (orange front ring and white rear dots) with Glock-cut dovetails for plenty of aftermarket options.

As for the locking system, the design of the R7 Mako includes a rear barrel lock stopper rather than using the entire barrel hood as is commonly seen in many modern pistols. This is to reduce the angle of the barrel lock, because it is presented with a matching roundness and is felt to bounce less.

"There's no other trigger in the competitive micro-league, sniper rifle that comes close to what you'll experience with the R7 Miku."

The R7 Mako features a barrel-blocked rear end, rather than using the entire barrel as a hood, as is commonly seen on many modern pistols. Also note the fully enclosed or hooded port.

The new Kimber R7 Mako comes with a high capacity, flush 11-round magazine and a high capacity 13 round magazine. The 3.37-inch stainless steel barrel is FNC hardened with a 1:10 LH twist and sports a deep-crowned muzzle. No manual safety, just an external safety with the addition of a normal trigger bar. The controls are extensive.

As for the pricing, they are more or less comparable: the optically available R7 Mako has an MSRP of $599, while the optical version equipped with the Trace Purple CTS-1500 Reflex Sight can be had for $799.

Usually, when newcomers join the already large handguns, they carry subcompact, polymer-made, sniper-fired 9mm handguns. The main competitors in this segment are: Taurus GX3, Ruger MAX, SIG Sauer P365, Smith & Wesson Shield Plus and Springfield Armory Hellcat. The open question is: Will it stand up for itself, or at least be recognized? We'll see - especially in Europe. In fact, after building a reputation with metal guns, Kimber is to be congratulated for daring to enter the competitive polymer gun market with a new product. We will keep you updated on availability and pricing in the EU. Check out the Kimber R7 Mako 9 mm Pistol As stated earlier, Kimber's first polymer-frame pistol aims to be a competitive competitor.

The past few years have seen a growing interest in what is now commonly known as the "Micro 9" concealed-carry pistol. These minimalist polymer-manufactured, semiautomatic striker-fired rifles offer the same features and ammunition capacity as a compact 9mm pistol with a smaller profile than a 9mm pocket pistol. Many gun manufacturers have recently released new Micro 9 options, so it should come as no surprise that Kimber Mfg. Inc. Joining this year is the release of the new R7 Mako pistol. As it's named the Shark, this pistol aims to outshine the competition. Here are a few reasons why the Kimber R7 Mako pistol deserves a closer look.

1. Loaded with popular features, Kimber was careful to dot the I's and T's with the R7 Mako's features while infusing it with its own sense of style and design. and the barrel is said to be stainless steel treated with a matte black fnc finish. The frame is grippy and comfortable with a firmer texture added for purchase. It ships with two stacks of warehouses. One is a flush fit grip and holds 11 rounds, the other is slightly extended to hold 13 rounds. This is Cambri's third gun-fired striker-fired rifle, but the first with a polymer engine.

2. The Intuitive Systems R7 Mako ships with TruGlo tritium night vision equipment. The bright orange front sight matches the tritium lamp around the round cutout in the rear sight. Let them be expedient in labor and expedient. Those sights are longer than usual which allows them to be seen through a micro-optical device (viewer) if installed. This allows the lights to act as backup if the red tech or battery dies.

Shotguns with slides that are ground and drilled for tiny micro sights, or "slide-ready optics," are even more common than they were a few years ago. Having the slides ready for viewing is a plus as you can choose to install the optic or leave the filler plate in place. But finding the right optic to install for your particular gun, ANISOCYCLE, finding and solving the right optic involves some serious work, some of which can be quite expensive.

The R7 Mako is available with a "no fade, no miss" optical solution. It can be compared to the factory-installed Trace Crimson CT-1500 Micro Red Dot, which is the version tested for this review. This lens is lightweight and has light sensors that automatically turn it on when needed without pressing any buttons. I've worked with this sight on a few different guns now and it provides a clear, usable sight.

This gun is heavier than some in its class, weighing 22.7 oz. An empty 11-round magazine and optic was installed. This is protected by a top-closed slide design that protects the optical lens from hot gases and debris escaping the chamber.

3. Straight-Right Lighter Trigger Although I've covered a lot of straight-right lighter trigger, which expresses the need for one's own hand for shooting comfort, the importance of a good trigger pull should not be overlooked. The cat and how it feels is where the rubber meets the road, and Camber knows it.

Instead of the more common polymer options, the R7 Mako has a flat aluminum trigger face with a safety plate in the middle of the trigger. Flat-face triggers got their start in competition circles, but are quickly gaining popularity as defensive-pistol options. The flat shape and square edges make it easy for the person pulling the trigger to feel if the trigger finger pad is in the right place. It may sound less comfortable than a round of work, but it is not. The more I work with flat surfaces, the better I like them.

This pistol is set as a factory trigger pull between 5 lbs. Up to 6.75 pounds. But the gun was working when the 4.5 pound trigger was pulled. With a world break and a significant reset trigger. It handled more like an aftermarket upgrade than a factory trigger.

4. Ambidextrous Thinking Control No-Snag Control The R7 Mako's other two external controls, the slide stop and weapon release, are both opaque. In this way they can be trained left or right handed without making any modifications to the gun. Why it isn't configured for more defensive guns this way is beyond me.

These controllers also have a non-slip design to make the gun easier to hold and help prevent accidental magazine release. Some companies flatter their directors so much that they become difficult to work with. In this case, the camber makes a small yoke that keeps the stop sliding so that it does not prevent you from using it. The release of magazine buttons rests in the depression, which prevents it from hitting, but makes it easier. Like the trigger, these controls are well designed and more intuitive to operate.

5. Satisfying Shootability For range shooting, the R7 Mako has proven to be perfectly reliable using four factory magazines and a mix of practice-grade and defense-grade ammunition in various bullet weights. The controls were easy to operate, the trigger was a joy to work with and the strategy was well handled. Shooting from the comfort of the bench
